Best Office Outfits You’ll Be Excited To Wear This Fall.
Looking for stylish office outfits for work this season? Check out the Best office outfits you’ll be excited to wear this fall.
Fall is here, and there are so many things I love about this season. The magical colours, leaves falling, and the weather getting cooler (not that I have anything against summer, though).
However, dressing for work in autumn can be tricky. The mornings are cold, and then it’s hot in the afternoon. The transitional weather makes dressing for the office a headache.
Don’t worry. I have rounded up tips and fall work outfits you can wear to look chic and cosy in your office, regardless of the weather.
Outfit Rules For Work
When getting dressed for work, outfit rules make things easy. The styling tips I follow are the 3-3-3 rule and the 7 rule for outfits.
To do this, select the following:
- 3 tops
- 3 bottoms
- 3 layers (cardigans, blazers, coats)
You can mix and match them. With these nine pieces, I am usually able to create different looks for the office without being repetitive.
Another rule I follow (and you should too) is the 7 rule for outfits.
I start with three tops, three bottoms, and a statement accessory, such as a scarf, belt, or chunky necklace. Following this rule has helped me get ready in as little as 10 minutes, and my outfits always look interesting.
Best Colours For Fall
Fall is known for its rich hues that are reminiscent of leaves falling from trees. If you are bored with neutrals, it will be fun to add these colours to your office wardrobe. They will keep you looking fresh and stylish all season.
Some colours to consider are:
- Mustard Yellow: It can warm up your outfits.
- Burgundy: It will make you look sophisticated and is ideal for pairing with blazers, skirts, and dresses.
- Brown: Try adding this one to your wardrobe. It looks great in knitwear and tailored pieces.
- Shades of Green: Incorporate some greens into your wardrobe with trench coats and utility wear. You will look chic all day long.
Try pairing these colours with neutrals for a glam look.
Casual Fall Outfits
You don’t need to wear a power suit to work every day. Some days, especially Fridays (in my office), call for relaxed but polished wear.
Cardigan + Neutral Coloured Top + Tailored Trousers
Style your cardigan with a simple top, tailored trousers, and pointy-toe kitten heels to create a chic and relaxed fall look that will keep you warm, too.
Midi Skirt + Ankle Boots
Midi skirts have always been my go-to in fall, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Style this with ankle boots and a fitted sweater for a sleek look that works for both casual and semi-formal settings.
Blazer + Jeans

A blazer and a pair of jeans is a great idea when trying to keep it relaxed but polished enough for the office. Refresh it with a silk camisole and a pair of loafers to keep it work-appropriate.
Patterned Blouse + Wide-Leg Trousers
Here is another great combo you should try. It will make you look ultra-chic on a Tuesday, especially with the blouse’s playful patterns. Just tuck in the blouse and add heels for the perfect finish.
Cardigan + Pencil Skirt
Embrace Mad Men vibes with this skirt paired with a fitted cardigan. The top keeps you cosy while the skirt is sexy but professional—a perfect combination. Add a slim belt to accentuate your waist and finish off with kitten heels.
Trench Coat + Jeans
Don’t want to wear a blazer? No problem. There’s nothing easier than throwing a trench coat over a tank top and a pair of jeans for work. It’s lightweight enough for fall’s transitional weather but structured enough to elevate any outfit. Make it professional with a pair of ballet flats and a structured bag.
Silk Top + High-Waisted Trousers

If you have a packed post-work schedule, you will need an outfit that looks chic enough for after-work events.
Slip on a luxurious silk top and high-waisted trousers that can easily take you from the office to dinner at a fancy restaurant. Accessorise your look with a clutch and heeled sandals.
Fall Business Outfits For Work
Power Suit

Looking for a foolproof way to refine your fall work wardrobe? I’ve got two words for you: Power Suit.
It’s surprisingly easy to put together. Just match it with your favourite top and finish off with a large tote and low heels.
Sheath Dress
When in doubt, slip on a sheath dress. All I do is put on a wine-coloured one together with beige pumps, a slim belt, and my handbag—and I’m ready to go.
Turtleneck

A turtleneck is a must-have this fall for a stylish and work-appropriate outfit. It goes with a blazer, tailored trousers, or skirts. What more could you ask for?
I love it because it works with jeans too. Choose neutral-coloured ones like black, cream, or camel. Then accessorise with gold hoops and a silk scarf.
Statement Skirt
A plaid, houndstooth, or subtle floral skirt is one of my unicorn wardrobe pieces this fall. These skirts are my favourite because they make my ensemble look interesting, plus the length keeps it office-friendly.
I also wear them for family gatherings and during the weekend. I add a cropped cardigan and tights with these skirts on chillier days.
Jumpsuit
Tired of going through your wardrobe and saying, “Nope, Nope, Nope, No!” Why not try a jumpsuit? It will keep you warm and is polished enough for work.
Wear it with a belt or add layers like a long-line blazer or trench coat when the temperature starts to drop.
Shirt Dress
Shirt dresses should be part of your work wardrobe. To switch it up for the office, add a belt, a pair of loafers or knee-high boots, and a knit vest for the fall look.
Best Accessories
Accessories can level up the simplest outfit. Some accessories to consider adding to your wardrobe and making your outfits pop are:
- Belts
- Scarves
- Jewellery (think brooches, layered necklaces, and hoop earrings)
- Shoes like loafers, ankle boots, and block heels
- Berets
And there you have it! I hope with these tips, you will be able to look chic and cosy in these different outfit options.
